I’m really feeling all the Christmas vibes and I just gotta say it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go. I couldn’t help my self, OK.
Today I have for you a Christmas tag. I have put together 10 questions all about Christmas (of course) inspired by my desire to share what Christmas means to me and all the excitement around it in the lead up to to the big day!
Without further ado…
The Christmas Tag
1.Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
In Australia I have a fake tree because a real one just wouldn’t last a week. When I lived in the UK we had a real one without a doubt every year. Oh my do I miss that smell.
2.What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Miracle on 34th Street. It has always been a favourite in my household and it’s such an old school classic Christmas film that gives you all of the festive feels.
3.Do you have any traditions at Christmas? If so, what is your most cherished?
I do! Each year I am creating more and more. I love a good tradition especially at this time of year. My most cherished tradition is on Christmas Eve. After laying out Santa’s milk and mince pie, the reindeer’s carrots and sprinkling some reindeer food up the path. We all get into our most Christmassy pyjamas and tuck up into bed to read ‘The Night Before Christmas’. I have had this particular book since 1997, my first Christmas. I have read it every year since. It is now a tradition 20 years later with my younger siblings and my partner loves it too.
4.Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
As a child I never did. However 2 years ago me and my partner decided we would give each other one present on Christmas eve but it’s always at midnight so technically it’ Christmas Day?
5.What is your favourite Christmas song/carol?
Have you seen my Blogmas Day 1 post? I wrote all of my top 10 Christmas songs. I cannot choose a favourite. One that does always get me singing though is Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin’ Stevens. Always a firm favourite.
6.What decoration do you place at the very top of your tree?
It’s always been an angel on the main tree that the family shares. In my partners bedroom we used to place a star but this year we have and old Santa decoration that I have had for as long as I can remember.
7.What is your favourite festive drink?
ooooh, I’d have to say a peppermint hot chocolate. With whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkled on top too.
8.How do you plan what to buy people as gifts? Plan it out in a list or just shop til you drop?
Every year I write up a list and have an idea what to get for who and a rough budget to stick too. This year however, I’ve not done that yet and I’ve barely got any done. oops, 22 days to go…
9.When do you open your presents? In the morning or at night?
Always in the morning we do our stockings and presents from family. Then in the evening we open our presents from friends and extended family. It’s always been a bit tricky like that as when I was in England I would be at my dads for half the day so I usually opened them all in the morning. Now that I live in Australia we spend the morning and my families house then to Robert’s in the afternoon.
10.When do you start to get excited about Christmas?
When do I stop getting excited about Christmas? Never. But I guess around October I really start thinking about it and playing Christmas songs as much everyone else’s dismay.
11. *Bonus question* – What are you most excited for this year over the Christmas season?
THE BIG CHRISTMAS DINNEEEEEER! The roast potatoes, the gravy, the meat, the veg, the Yorkshire puddings, the mint sauce. Ugh just all of the food.
I’d love for you all to get involved, you can use these questions or make some up yourself! Write a blog post, make a video or even answer on Twitter! Don’t forget the comments too, it would be great to know your answers!
