Hello again lovelies and welcome to Blogmas day 2!
I hope you are all having a wonderful December weekend so far, I’m starting to really feel the winter weather now, (not going to lie, I love it!), it’s my excuse for living off hot chocolate’s at the moment. How are you spending your first weekend of December?
Today’s post is a q & a based around Christmas and the festive season that I have collected on Twitter from you! I have a few to answer and I’m really excited about it, I always get so excited about q and a’s because I feel like you get to know people a little bit more.
Last years Blogmas day 2 was ‘My Bucket List For December’ which included lots of festive days out!
I want to say a huge thank you for the lovely ladies for sending me their questions, I really appreciate your support!
Here we go!…
Thank you Emma at @lifeofemmax on Twitter.
- When do you normally put up your tree each year? Do you have a specific date/first week in December?
I always out my tree up around the First of December and if I can’t do it that day it’ll be the first week of December to make sure we get to enjoy the tree for at least a month!
2. Has your family got a tradition that you’d hate to miss every year?
On my mums side of the family we read ‘The Night Before Christmas’ together every Christmas Eve. We each take it in turns on different years to read it out loud. It’s a tradition we’ve had running for as long as I can remember and one that I will be carrying on in the future. This year I am living in England which means I won’t be with my mums side of the family, but I’ll still read it, possibly even Facetime so that we can all read it together!
3. What’s your favourite part of Christmas?
I absolutely love wrapping my presents. I’ll lay them all out in their piles and select the perfect ribbons, bows and tags, blasting some Christmas music for hours on end making them all festive and pretty.
Thank you Meg from @a_mega_life on Twitter.
- Is there a Christmas tradition that you’d like to start?
I love the idea of creating an advent calendar for my partner and hiding the presents around the house like a Christmas treasure hunt. I think once we are in ur own house I will definitely start doing this for him!
2. Do you have a certain theme or colour you use for your tree/decorations?
To be honest, I change my theme every year and buy new baubles and ornaments to suit it. I think my favourite would have to be red and sparkly, it looks beautiful and I feel like it is a very traditional Christmas theme. I have a lot of special and sentimental decorations that I put on the tree each year that are all different colours, but stand out beautifully on the tree, wherever the theme is.
3. Top Christmas blogging props?
I would have to say the most important to me is fairy lights. I think they make very flatly look festive and add the magical sparkle to any picture. I would also say in my top would be baubles, because they just scream Christmas and of course some tartan. Usually red and green!
4. Favourite Christmas food and drink?
Hot chocolate every time, mint, gingerbread, whipped cream, marshmallows – I’ll have it all! Also the tins of celebrations, heroes, roses and quality streets because once you seem them in shops or in your home, you know that, Christmas has begun! My favourite ‘proper’ food would have to be roast potatoes and pigs in blankets.
Thank you Hannah from @justhannahhhere on Twitter.
- How do you spend Christmas Eve? Any Christmas traditions?
As I mentioned earlier, I read ‘The Night Before Christmas’, we also sprinkle Reindeer food outside the house leading up the path. As a family we all put on our most festive, cosy pyjamas ready for Christmas Day. The most recent tradition that I have is with Robert. We give each other a small gift at midnight so technically Christmas Day.
Thank you Andreia from @lifemakeupstyl1 who let me use some of her questions from her Christmas tag at lifemakeupstyle.wordpress.com.
The questions I chose are;
- Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes I have! I was born in England and we often had a white Christmas, when I lived in Australia it was summer at Christmas time so we didn’t ever have one there. Now that I am living back I’m England I’m hoping for a white Christmas this year too.
2. Is your tree real or fake?
I would 100% have a real tree every time. I love the smell of a real tree and the whole experience of going out and picking the perfect one. However because I don’t yet have my own house and we’ve just moved back to England, I have to go with what other people do. My dad has one artificial tree in the living room and a real one downstairs in the kitchen/dining room.
3. Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I actually really love giving presesnt’s, I enjoy shopping around for other people and gift wrapping them all individually too. I get excited by someone complementing my wrapping and watching them enjoying the opening experience too.
If you enjoyed reading this post (I hope you did), the feel free to answer them for yourself in the comments below, on Twitter or in your own blog post! Let me know if you do! Do you have anything in common with me?
I’m already excited for tomorrow!
Love, Abby x
