Hello my lovelies,
And welcome to September and officially – Autumn.
I can’t quite believe we are in autumn now, I feel as if this year has been a whirlwind and is flying by incredibly fast! I have so many memories to carry with me forever and lots of pictures to look back on! We are now into my most favourite time of year, and I am ready for all the festivities to commence.
The start of our halloween decorations.
I’ve been shopping around and picked up some cosy autumnal candles, new homey bits and lots of festive decs. (If you’d like to see what I’ve picked up – let me know in the comments!)
This year is particularly exciting for myself and Robert because this is the first year that we have our own home which means we can decorate it all exactly how we like! To welcome in September and the start of autumn I thought I’d share with you my favourite things about this time of year.
What are your favourite things about autumn and Halloween? Do you have any traditions or exciting things planned? Let’s have a chat about it below!
My fave things about autumn:
• The trees transition into warm hues of brown, orange and red. The leaves fall onto the floor in giant heaps – just ready and waiting for you to run through. This means woodland walks. The most beautiful time to walk within nature. We are really lucky where we live, that there is a forest only 10 minutes away, with so many trees and the cutest deer which if lucky enough to see, look so majestic and magical (I think they are sleeping here until Santa needs them!).
Woodland walk in my boots, of course.
• All the homeware and fashion stores stocking gorgeous autumnal, festive pieces. I have been obsessed with Homesense lately, they have started to release their autumn/winter range and I cannot get enough of it! There’s no better time to go mooching around the shops looking for hidden autumnal gems. I’ve picked SO many candles, gorgeous homey decor bits and I’ve started decorating already! Too soon?… Oh well! Primark have also started releasing their autumn/winter collections – which means this gal has stocked up on jumpers already – oh yes!
(The picture is terrible quality I know). How cute is this pumpkin light from Homesense!
•The food and drink. Pumpkin. Spice. Latte. Need I say more? I am your typical Insta, blogger gal and love me a PSL. I’ve already enjoyed my first one for the year, let me tell ya, it was delicious. Since I was young, I’ve always loved baking , and I find during the colder months I bake more at home using more creative recipes. Most of them include some type of cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin or chocolate. I’m always looking for more recipes to try – please share your faves with me!! Also, I think I drink about 7 hot chocolates a day. Anyone else?
My first pumpkin spice latte of the year!
•The most aaaamazing days out! I mean, pumpkin farms, Christmas tree farms, Christmas markets, ice skating and woodland walks, just to name a few. They become a family day out and everybody dresses up, there is just so much excitement in the air. I truly am the happiest version of me in the lead up to Christmas. I jump around like the most excited child (I am 22) and hardly take a breath when talking to anyone about my festive plans.
Elveden Christmas tree farm.
•Jumpers, jackets and woolly hats. My FAVE items to wear. I shall be living in jeans, jumpers, fluffy jackets and pom pom hats for the next 4 months. Layering up is just so fun, I feel so cosy (most of the time I’m too hot), ain’t no wind getting to me! I’m the biggest fan of rain, grey clouds and the snoooooooow!!!
Another woodland walk with a different jacket, but the same boots. These boots were made for walking.
I know autumn is a lot of peoples favourite season, but I’d love you to share with me what your favourite season is and why! Are any of you the same as me and just love everything autumn/winter and start getting excited really early? (I hope I’m not the only one!).
Bring on all the festive content from here on and enjoy all the festivities together! I can’t wait to share more with you!
Love, Abby x
