Our Christmas Menu | Blogmas Day 23

*Drink would definitely have been non-alcoholic!

Every household or family does their Christmas dinner differently. It’s fascinating how many different tradition there are all for the same day. It’s amazing how one day brings so many people, family, friends, strangers together. One of the most prepared for/talked about part of Christmas is the dinner. The big meal that families will share.

I just want to say, I’m aware that not everyone can afford to have a Christmas dinner, and some people don’t even have a home at Christmas. I donate at Christmas time (all throughout the year too) and often give any loose change I have to those less fortunate. It breaks my heart and makes me realise how lucky I am and what a privilege it is that I can provide food and have a roof over my head with my loved ones. Christmas isn’t about the food, the presents or how big your Christmas tree is. It’s about having your loved ones around. If you can help someone out this Christmas please do. There are many charities and food shelters that you can donate food or money too. Every little helps a lot!

I’d love to know how your family celebrates Christmas and any traditions you have. I’m also very intrigued to know what you eat on Christmas Day? Do you eat the same thing every year or do you change it up? When I lived in Australia, the common meal in Christmas Day was a bbq. Which, I never had on Christmas Day – I’m much more an English tradition kinda gal!

Our Christmas Day Menu

Posh Prawn Cocktail – Fresh prawns served with salad, cucumber and Marie Rose sauce.

Sliced Chicken Salad – Served with salad, sweetcorn and mayonnaise.

Turkey and Beef Roast – with all the trimmings. Roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips, pigs in blankets, stuffing, veg and gravy.

Sausages – with all the trimmings. Roast potatoes, parsnips, pigs in blankets, stuffing, veg and gravy.

Homemade Chocolate Cookies – with vanilla ice cream.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I’m definitely trying to be organised this year as it’s Robert and my first time hosting Christmas Day. We’ve tried to make it as special as possible to help create amazing Christmas memories.

I hope your Christmas is filled with magic and delicious food!

Love, Abby x
